General Michael Flynn and the Dangers of American Defeat
General Michael Flynn, in collaboration with Michael Ledeen, has written a very clear, concise, and powerful book about the real danger to America from the forces of Islamic supremacism and other opponents.
The book, The Field of Fight, is a remarkably clear explanation of the importance of intelligence in modern warfare.
It is also a devastating condemnation of the Obama administration's policy of dishonesty and weakness.
Finally, it condemns the large traditional bureaucracies in the Pentagon and the intelligence community for being slow to adapt to new realities, and for clinging instead to old systems and old approaches that no longer work.
General Flynn is in a unique position to outline our current war-fighting decisions because he has been in the rooms and he has fought in this long war.
General Flynn spent 33 years as a career soldier specializing in intelligence. He understands that the war fighter has to be able to access intelligence in virtually real time in order to use it. He knows how to distinguish between interesting analysis that is too slow and too abstract to be helpful and the fast, practical information that can decisively affect a battle and save American lives.
General Flynn has been the most outspoken and highest ranking officer to criticize the corruption and dishonesty that the Obama Administration has injected into the military and national defense system.
His description of destructive rules of engagement which protect our enemies and increase the danger to our own troops is infuriating.
Flynn has thought long and hard about the long war we are engaged in with those who would create an Islamist dictatorship. His outline of the challenge and the key strategies for defeating our enemies is very compelling.
The gap between the policies of the Obama administration and the dangers which threaten us are just breath taking. He offers example after example.
It is impossible to read the factual details General Flynn lays out without seriously questioning the policies the administration has pursued, which reward our enemies and weaken our allies.
Every citizen concerned about America's survival should read this book.
