The family that runs a small Indiana pizza shop continues to be the target of attacks by people from across the state and the country — people incensed that their definition of “tolerance” isn’t embraced by the two owners of the small business — owners who dared to say they will run their business in accordance with their strongly held religious beliefs.
Yet, despite the criticism and the threats they say they’ve endured over the past few days since expressing their support for Indiana’s “religious freedom” law, the O’Connors say they will re-open Memories Pizza.
WND reports that the tiny restaurant at the center of a stormy national debate over religion and gay rights will again turn on the lights and fire up the ovens in Walkerton, Indiana.

“This is quite a contrast to the family’s previous plans to shutter their business for good and leave their Walkerton home – and perhaps the state of Indiana.”
And have they changed their minds on whether they would cater a gay couple’s wedding? Crystal O’Connor answered a reporter’s question in a way that will certainly keep the firestorm swirling around their Indiana business.
“It is not a sin that we bring gays into our establishment and to serve them,” she said, Mediaite reported. “It is a sin, though, if we cater their wedding. We feel we are participating, we are putting a stamp of approval on their wedding.”

And when Memories does reopen its doors, the financial picture for the embattled pizzeria will be a lot brighter, thanks to a GoFundMe campaign set up by a fellow associated with the Dana Loesch show on The Blaze.
If you’ll forgive the irresistible pun, Memories Pizza is now rolling in the dough. As of this writing, the campaign to “relieve the financial loss endured by the proprietors’ stand for faith” has raised close to $750,000. Small donations of $5-$100 continue to flood in by the minute.
At this rate of response to the appeal for donations in support of the O’Connor family, it would not be at all surprising to see the GoFundMe effort exceed $1 million.
