Racism Pops Up In The Most Unusual Places

VIDEO: Racism Pops Up In The Most Unusual Places

On an episode of ABC’s “What Would You Do?” from 2013, three actors set up a scenario in a Harlem barber shop where a black customer and his white girlfriend were being attacked with racist remarks by a black employee.

Most reactions by the customers (who were unaware that this was set up) were in defense of the white girlfriend. Others didn’t say a word.

In one situation, a man took a stand against the hatred.
The actress egged him on by saying “They’re ruining the black family” referring to white people.

“What? Drugs are ruining the black family. Poverty is ruining the black family. That white girl’s not ruining the black family.” he said in response.

When the host came in and revealed it was set up for the show, the man said “Black people need to figure out constructive ways to move forward. And just being angry and upset at white people doesn’t do that.”

This sheds a lot of light on the current events taking place in our country right now. Hopefully, whenever real racism takes place, people of all colors will stand up for each other.
