DESTROYING THE WHITE MALE CLUB

Pentagon Instructs Military To Target Racist "White Male Club"

The proof is in the poison. American society is in breakdown. The military is on a mission to target Christians and other "domestic hate groups." But now the target is on the "white male club," the privileged elite. Apparently, just being white and male makes someone privileged. This absurdity is what is being taught on college campuses and schools all across the nation. The myth of "white privilege" is being propagated by an Administration determined to destroy America along racial lines. Forget terrorists, the real threats are white males.

FE_DA_130223_deploy425x283The "white male club" runs deep. And the complete lie of "white privilege" is being burned into people in all segments of society, as if all white people should apologize for being white. The sinister side of this is that it's working, and empowering those who are not "privileged," but whose intention is to destroy the culture from the inside out. Islam is the destroyer, and when a black Islamic President is in power and can espouse the inferiority of minorities, the next stop is a totalitarian state.

Read a section of the manual by clicking here.

Fox reporter Todd Starnes has obtained a manual by the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI), which is being used to instruct military personnel to recognize the "White Male Club." This group that has all the power, privilege, and opportunity at their fingertips. Never wasted a good crisis, or a the potential to prey on imaginary "white guilt."

“America is an Islamic Country”

Barack Obama’s DHS Advisor Mohamed Elibiary: “America is an Islamic Country”

I was alerted earlier today on Facebook that Barack Obama's Muslim Brotherhood member and Department of Homeland Security advisor Mohamed Elibiary has claimed that the United States is an Islamic Country. Perhaps, he thinks so because he is a Muslim Brotherhood member and an Islamist, Barack Obama, is the President. Well I have news for him.

TED CRUZ AND THE PEOPLE'S BRANCH OF GOVERNMENT

Beware of Jealousy
“Beware, my lord, of jealousy: It is the green-eyed monster….” (Othello)

QUOTING THE ARTICLE:

Three weeks after the opening of our government, I finally realized why there is so much hatred for Senator Ted Cruz and company: Jealousy. Cruz’s words and actions served as the political equivalent of Dramamine by freeing Americans from the motion sickness that comes from Washington, DC’s normal spin cycle. Cruz’s critics are jealous of his ability to cut through their spin, grab the American people's attention, and draw their focus to a conservative mission.

This jealousy explains the hours between the end of the filibuster and the beginning of the government shutdown. Whereas those crucial hours could have been used to seize the momentum and expose the failures of Obama’s policies, moderates instead spent that time strategizing about how to punish the honest mavericks of the party. Then, with the momentum lost and defeat assured, they blamed Ted Cruz and the Tea Party instead of taking responsibility for their miscalculations.

This is unfortunately an old refrain – a broken record the moderates never get tired of trotting out. They lead us into the desert without water or a map, and then they blame conservatives when things go wrong. In the past, their names have included Dole, McCain, and Romney. The real shocker is not that in each case we lost on Election Day, but rather that the next day we allowed the moderates to not only stay in power but more importantly place the blame for the loss on conservatives.

Whether you agree with Senator Cruz and his filibuster, you must give him credit for broadening the circle of engagement on a political issue and making a policy item hard to ignore for most Americans. Those who normally couldn't even name their own Senator saw a man standing up for twenty-two hours, and I’d bet their curiosity made them probe a bit more to find his motivation. Now, as Obamacrash is continuing on its downward spiral, those same people will think back to the man who was trying to warn them. They’ll remember him and his warning every time they get a medical bill in the mail, every time they’re forced off a health plan they like, and every time they go to file their annual taxes.

This is a whole new group of people who might never before have voted Republican, and they wouldn’t have existed without Ted Cruz and the Tea Party. They’ll be there for the Republican Party in 2014 and 2016. The question is: Will the Republican Party be there for them?

The answer depends on whether we turn the reins of the party over to the Dole-McCain-Romney crowd, or whether we move the GOP to the right of center, where it belongs and where it will win. Just as Obama won two elections without being tied down by the hawkish, socially conservative wing of the Democratic Party – yes, once upon a time, it did exist – we need to cut the puppet strings of the moderates in the GOP and then make our party once again the party of Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan – both of whom knew a thing or two about winning presidential elections by standing up for their principles and appealing straight to the people.

One of my mentors, Monica Crowley, once said that our Constitution actually set up four branches of Government. We all know of the first three: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. However, we tend to forget the most important one: The People’s Branch. It's time for the people to reclaim the power of this branch, and the first step is to re-establish a fearless, principled, and straight-talking party of the people, which was and can be again the Republican Party.

THE NEW NORMAL: GET USED TO IT

Stupid Is the New Normal

The 2,300 page healthcare law that took several days from writing to passage, and five years from passage to rollout will apparently take 50 years just to sign everyone up.

According to Forbes only about 5,000 people have signed up using the federal exchange. They say that another 25,000 have signed up using the state exchanges through Friday.

Ted Cruz criticizes DOJ for arguing international treaty can trump the Constitution

Beltway Confidential

Justice Department attorneys are advancing an argument at the Supreme Court that could allow the government to invoke international treaties as a legal basis for policies such as gun control that conflict with the U.S. Constitution, according to Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.

Their argument is that a law implementing an international treaty signed by the U.S. allows the federal government to prosecute a criminal case that would normally be handled by state or local authorities.

That is a dangerous argument, according to Cruz.

"The Constitution created a limited federal government with only specific enumerated powers," Cruz told the Washington Examiner prior to giving a speech on the issue today at the Heritage Foundation.

"The Supreme Court should not interpret the treaty power in a manner that undermines this bedrock protection of individual liberty,” Cruz said.

In his speech, Cruz said the Justice Department is arguing "an absurd proposition" that "could be used as a backdoor way to undermine" Second Amendment rights, among other things.

The underlying case, Bond v. United States, involves a woman charged with violating the international ban on chemical weapons because she used toxic chemicals to harass a former friend who had an affair with her husband.

Under the Constitution, such an offense would be handled at the state level. In Bond's case, the federal government prosecuted her under the Chemical Weapons Convention Implementation Act.

That law implements the Chemical Weapons Convention, the international treaty Syrian dictator Bashar Assad is accused of violating in that country's vicious civil war.

"The problem here is precisely that Congress, rather than implementing the treaty consistent with our constitutional system of federalism, enacted a statute that, if construed to apply to petitioner’s conduct, would violate basic structural guarantees and exceed Congress's enumerated powers," according to Bond's lawyers.

The Judicial Crisis Network's Carrie Severino said the Bond case could have ramifications for many other issues.

"If the administration is right, the treaty power could become a backdoor way for the federal government to do everything from abolishing the death penalty nationwide, to outlawing homeschooling, to dramatically curtailing the states' rights to regulate abortion," she told the Washington Examiner.

The Judicial Crisis Network is a conservative legal activist group.

EPA POWER GRAB: STORMWATER POWER MEASURES

The EPA’s Most Dramatic Power Grab Ever

The EPA Legally Controls All Water, Food Production, and Private Property

Mike and Chantell Sacket, from Priest Lake, Idaho, were preparing an 0.63 acre plot of land for the construction of their new home when an order by the EPA was issued to remove piles of fill material and replant the vegetation that they had removed from their property. The couple paid $23,000 for their property.

The order from the EPA was issued after the couple had gone through the process of acquiring all of the necessary permits to begin construction. Failure to comply with the EPA order would have resulted in a daily fine of up to $37,500.

The Idaho couple sued, in an attempt to prove that their land did not meet the criteria for being declared a wetland by the EPA; however, the lower court refused to hear the case. Fortunately, the Supreme Court sided with Mike and Chantell as well as several other property owners who had been the victims of EPA tyranny. The details of the case are provided here.  READ MORE... http://epaabuse.com/14617/news/epa-legally-controls-water-food-production-private-property/

Quote from a post comment by Chad McDonald to the above article "Special Report: The EPA’s Unrelenting Power Grab"

  1. Water rights are an interesting field of study because they are not absolute rights of control and usage. In fact they are pass through rights, that is to say you have a right to use them and then through either evaporation or discharge, or percolation they leave your control. A car, a piece of land, a house or an animal are not this way. You have absolute control and usage and may transfer said rights to another. Each year your water right must be renewed by purchase and according to the clouds. Other property rights are not like this. Which makes for an interesting conundrum. Just how much "contamination" does a water right confer upon the holder of that right? The supreme court has repeatedly said that unless all waters remain on your property in perpetuity, the EPA has a right to regulate those activities which affect the potability, swimability, and fishability of the waters of the United States, The end being that with the exception of the great basin, all waters of the U.S. drain to the ocean. Previous water law has held that a body of water is considered waters of the state if one can navigate down a stream or river, and became waters of the US when it was navigable by commercial vessels or was an interstate water body like the Columbia or the Colorado river. Yet it cannot be denied that all watersheds are affected by human activities.

The EPa's redefinition of waters of the US is a power grab from the states and from landowners, trashing over 225 years of water law precedent. They do not have this right and the every state should sue the EPA not just under the 10th amendment but under the commerce clause, which is what the EPA will use to justify their conduct. Scientifically all watersheds are connected but the EPA is to be a font of scientific knowledge to assist states in implementing the Clean Water Act. And the citizens of the state are supposed to hold those public officials accountable for having clean water with the boundaries of the state. If they don't want clean water then they pay the price, not every US taxpayer.

The question then becomes a matter of return on investment. Are we increasingly spending more and more money while getting less in return which is exactly what the new regulations seem to imply, or do we hit a limit at which we must say, we have done all we reasonably can and we must let nature finish cleaning up our mess. Under this administration the interpretation of the clean water act has come to mean that every vestige of human impact must be absolutely removed no matter what the cost to the taxpayer or the return on our investment.

To push farmers and near waterbody landowners into onerous regulatory environments is not the answer. I personally favor using the NRCS and local NR boards to educate landowners and land users on the best available practices to protect the resource. In my experience NRCS is the best and most knowledgable and best equipped agency to deal with the clean water acts requirements to address non point source water pollution. They are the ones who by their mandate must address the fundamental economics of resource conservation. The are the ones who over the last 80 years have done more for the conservation of agricultural, water and soil resources than all the other land management agencies combined. The forest service and BLM are making efforts and have made improvements as the science has improved but it has yet to be a steady progress. But with the NRCS being in the best position to work directly with landowners, to help finance multi year projects, and to show new landowners the success of their efforts. No other agency in the US government is so positioned. NRCS should have the authority over the non point source section of the clean water act, and this would eliminate the need for the above discussions. (END QUOTE)

While we watch the federal government take over our healthcare our and education, what will be the next intrusion into the lives of free men and women of America? Is this what liberty looks like or are we staring down the barrel of a socialistic dictatorship?

This is taking place in Oregon now, but you can be assured, it is already in or soon coming to a State near you. Be alert!

The “Mormon Effect” and Political Ideology

QUOTING THE ARTICLE:

During the 2012 presidential campaign, that awesomely deep well of perpetual wisdom, Alec Baldwin, proclaimed that if Barack Obama were not black, his vote total would have been 20 percent higher.

People of real intelligence realize that the opposite was probably true: if he had been white, his vote total would have been 20 percent lower. The African-American voting bloc combined with enough whites suffering from liberal guilt guaranteed a higher vote total for Obama.

The truth of the matter is, if Mitt Romney had not been a Mormon, his vote total might very well have been significantly higher.
In fact, according to a Gallop poll released in June of last year, while 4 percent of people said they would not vote for a black president, a full 22 percent said they would not vote for a Mormon. In fact, only atheists and gays ranked higher.

So Baldwin probably had it backwards, which he usually does, so that comes as no surprise.

What did come as a surprise to me is why people would have such negative views of Mormons. I have known lots of them in my life, and in most cases they have been hard-working, kind, generous family-oriented people—just the kind of people this country used to value (and maybe that’s the problem right there.)

Mormons have intrigued me ever since Mike Huckabee back in 2007 claimed that Mormons believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers. With the recent election over, I decided to check out Mormons a bit more.

My hope in doing this was to explain to readers who Mormons are and whether or not 22 percent of the people were justified in opposing having a Mormon president.

But instead I’m going to share an intriguing bit of Mormon theology I learned that I think makes them perhaps the most politically wise human beings on the planet. Ironically, this story stems from that Huckabee quote about the relationship between Jesus and the devil, but the lesson to be learned is one that, regardless of our political or religious views, we would all be wise to consider.

So here’s what I learned: Mormons, unlike most other Christian sects, believe that all humans lived a life before mortality. They call this the pre-existence or pre-earth life. At birth a veil is placed over our minds so that we don’t remember it (you’ll see why in a minute).

In this pre-earth life, we were all in the presence of God as His spirit children. Jesus was there—the first-born of God’s spirit children, and a leader in the councils in Heaven. Lucifer was also there, and was another leader among the children of God. He was called a “son of the morning.”

At some point in this existence, the Father called all of His children together to explain how things worked. All of His children would have to leave His presence and come to earth for a period of testing. The goal was to see if we would live a righteous life even when we had to live by faith, as we would no longer be able to remember God or heaven (that’s the reason for the veil).

If we would live a righteous life, we would be given the opportunity to return and live with God forever. Otherwise we would forfeit that chance, because no unclean thing can live in God’s presence. However, God knew that we would all make mistakes, so he would provide a Savior for the world. This Savior would live a sinless life, and because of that, he would qualify to pay for the sins of the world through what would be called the “Atonement.” If people would sincerely repent of their sins, then the Atonement would essentially erase their sins, and they could still return and live with God. The Father called for volunteers to be this savior, and two stepped forward: Jesus and Lucifer.

mormon_conferenceLucifer said that he would be the savior and he would force everybody to live righteously, thus guaranteeing that all of God’s spirit children would return to Him in heaven [and he, Lucifer would receive all the credit/glory]. Jesus said that He would follow the Father’s plan and allow God’s children their free agency [and all the glory would go to God]. They could choose for themselves whether to live righteously and take advantage of the Atonement or whether to live in sin and forfeit the opportunity to return and live with God.

God rejected Lucifer’s plan, causing Lucifer to rebel and declare war on God. One-third of God’s spirit children joined Lucifer in this rebellion. In the end, the rebellion failed and Lucifer and his followers were cast out of heaven. They came to earth without bodies and now, continuing the war they started in heaven, they tempt men to do evil to one another and lose out on the chance to return to God. [Luke 10:18; Revelation 12:9; Isaiah 14:12]

PAY ATTENTION HERE; THIS IS THE GOOD PART

Now, any traditional Christians reading this will see similarities to their own belief system. Most traditional Christians believe that Lucifer lived in heaven as an angel, but then declared war on God and was cast out. However, the causes for that war are not necessarily clear in traditional Christian theology.

That is where Mormon theology is so intriguing. For Mormons, the greatest of all battles, the war in heaven, was fought over LIBERTY—or as they call it, “free agency.”Lucifer wanted to take it away, while God demanded that humans have it.

Although a Mormon might balk at my making comparisons between their religious beliefs and modern politics (and as I said earlier, every Mormon I’ve ever known was a very good person, so I apologize to any I offend), I see a direct correlation here. For a Mormon, the battle for liberty is not unique to this life; it is the core battle of the ages. Lucifer lost the war in heaven (he really thought he could beat God?), but the war continues on earth. So seeing the government become more and more tyrannical is not just a political concern; it’s a fundamental, eternal concern.

I’m inspired by this Mormon theological idea: God intended for humans to be free to make our own choices and live with the consequences of those choices. The Founding Fathers of this country said essentially the same thing in the Declaration of Independence:
We hold these truths to be self-evidence, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

My study of Mormonism has not only given me newfound respect for this people and their religion; it has also made me evaluate my own attitude towards the liberty that seems to be slipping through all of our fingers. Is this just something that is nice to have, and for which I thank the Founding Fathers? Or is it really something that is endowed by God, and that He expects me to fight for. According to Mormon theology, I already fought for this once. The fact that I’m here says that I was on God’s side in the war in heaven, and fought for liberty.

A Mormon might ask, why should any of us be less willing to fight for it here than we were there?

CHURCH DOCTRINE, LONG HELD TENETS OF THE BIBLE, DEFENDED

If the church does not take a stand now on what is universally considered deviant behavior, the escalation of all deviant behaviors will become an impossible tidal wave to stop. There are ant number of groups just waiting for there to be unchallenged law protecting ANY and ALL deviant behavior so that everything decent and moral becomes religious hate and bullying. At that point, the church will no longer be able to exist, except for in the hearts and minds of believers. Beheadings across the world are common place for those unwilling to comply with Islam. Now we are watching a systematic beheading of the church in America. #wakeUPAmerica

U of Georgia panel discusses impact of media on women's issues

QUOTING THE ARTICLE taken from OnlineAthens.com:

"Modern women grow up hearing they should have it all — career and family — yet the media often suggests that might not be possible.

The Delta Sigma Theta and Delta Zeta sororities came together to present “50 Shades of Women” on Monday to discuss such topics as domestic violence and the power of female sexuality, but it primarily focused on the influence media has on societal expectations of women.

One of the more controversial discussions arose from a commercial for the mature video game Grand Theft Auto. To the horror of the primarily female audience, the graphic trailer featured barely dressed women, prostitution and even rape scenes. The question that followed the video involved the implications of exposure to these video games at a young age.

Surprising most of the audience, Miss UGA 2013 Jenna Jackson, a panelist, decided to play devil’s advocate by admitting to playing the game.

“These games are intended for mature audiences only, so by the time people play the games, their identities are already formed,” she said.

People were quick to respectfully disagree.

Objectification of women, especially in a game, desensitizes people to it,” and that, “even though they are meant for mature audiences only, kids play them,” said another panelist, UGA Health Center Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention Coordinator Michele Passanno.

The discussion then turned to the effects of celebrity culture on realities women face. At the center of this conversation were entertainers Rihanna and Kerry Washington.

The topic of Rihanna’s abusive relationship with singer Chris Brown contained a variety of conflicting opinions. Some asked why she didn’t live up to her social responsibility as a role model and leave the relationship.

“When we start asking those questions we take the blame and attention away from where it belongs, solely with the perpetrator,” responded Passanno.

Some women were upset the abuse became such a conversational and even sometimes comical topic. Fans complained that Rihanna’s now more known for her abuse than her music.

Still others, like panelist Stephanie Proft of Womenetics, thought all the news coverage was a good thing and said, “I don’t think it’s a positive thing that it happened, but I think it definitely opened up the discussion.”

Conversations then turned to the hit drama series “Scandal” that centers around a fictitious affair between the president of the United States and the show’s strong-willed heroine Olivia Pope, played by Washington. It’s received a lot of backlash for allegedly promoting promiscuity, but on Monday fans devotedly defended their new favorite TV female. Some compared the show’s racy content to the real-life affair between Marilyn Monroe and John F. Kennedy. Questions were raised about why, across generations, promiscuity continues to be idolized.

The audience grew silent when one attendee asked, “Do sexy outfits and the hypersexualization of women make them victims of their own sexuality?”

It was a stumper that never really received a concrete answer from the panelists. Some agreed that they do, while others said part of being a strong female is the ability to bear your true identity and sometimes that means baring skin.

Jackson thought the blame lay more with entertainment consumers, saying, “We need to pay attention to what we purchase, what we watch and what we want.”

Which brought the group to the question: “Is there a right way and a wrong way for a female to obtain financial security?”

Most agreed relying on a rich husband, your body or a reality show is a bad way. Some giggled when a comment about girls going to college merely for a “Mrs.” degree was brought up. Others said they couldn’t stand the thought of taking a husband’s last name, let alone going to college just to find one.

Overall, no great consensus about women’s role in society or media’s impact on that role was reached, but Health Center Sexual Health Coordinator Katy Janousek summed up the night when she said “we don’t know everything, but what we know about female sexuality is that it’s powerful.”

SENATE DEMOCRATS SEEING THE LIGHT ON FAILED ACA IMPLEMENTATION

REPORT: SENATE DEMS UP FOR RE-ELECTION IN 2014 TO BACK DELAY OF OBAMACARE ENROLLMENT DEADLINE

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV)
Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR)
Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH)

On Wednesday, CNN’s Dana Bash tweeted that all Senate Democrats up for re-election in 2014 will reportedly support a delay of Obamacare’s enrollment deadline.

Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), who is up for re-election in 2014, wrote to Obama on Tuesday and asked him to delay the enrollment deadline for the individual mandate. “Given the existing problems with the website, I urge you to consider extending open enrollment beyond the current end date of March 31, 2014,” Shaheen wrote to the president. "Allowing extra time for consumers is critically important so they have the opportunity to become familiar with the website, survey their options and enroll.”

On Wednesday, Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR), who is facing a tough challenge in his 2014 re-election against Rep. Tom Cotton (R-AR), came out in support of Shaheen’s call for a delay of the individual mandate’s enrollment deadline. Pryor had previously been on record as supportive of the mandate as is.

Now, according to CNN’s Bash, the Democratic Party is coordinating an effort to support a delay in the individual mandate.

“new: senior dem source tells me to expect every sen dem running in 2014 to back @JeanneShaheen proposal to delay #ACA enrollment deadline,” Bash tweeted on early Wednesday evening.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) is on record as supporting a one-year delay in the individual mandate as well, although Manchin is not up for re-election in 2014.

The Democrats' push comes shortly after Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) recently launched a crusade against Obamacare. Cruz’s efforts and those of Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) showed the American people the president and Senate Democrats were unwilling to compromise on Obamacare, and the Democrats’ stubbornness resulted in a temporary partial government shutdown and a short-lived debt crisis scare.

Many Republicans, including the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), have been predicting for months that the Democrats would look for an Obamacare “escape hatch” ahead of 2014.

MUSLIM PROFESSOR OF RELIGION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA SPEAKS ABOUT BIAS

Muslims face dehumanizing prejudice in U.S., scholar says
University of Georgia religion professor Alan Godlas.

QUOTE: "The religion professor, himself a Muslim, recently talked with about three dozen UGA students and workers, gathered to discuss how people can actually use emotion and bias to learn and teach about Islam.

American Muslims often get the kind of treatment once reserved for blacks and Jews, dehumanized groups that also were the victims of racial and ethnic prejudice and violence, according to University of Georgia religion professor Alan Godlas." End Quote

These compelling words beg the question, "Where are the articles and meetings Professor Godlas, a "schola,r" promotes opposing and calling out Muslim terrorists and Jihadist?." It would go a long way if the peaceful and kind Muslims of the world stood up against the violence and slaughter of human beings all over the world by those in their own religion.  Where is the bold outcry from the Muslim community against the terroristic and savage attacks of the extremists? Why don't they speak out? Could it be that they themselves are terrified of the extremists in their own religious community? Could this scholar be purposely overlooking the component that would beat serve an understanding if WHY Muslims all over the world are silent against the real dehumanization rampant in a significant sector of their hallowed midst? Where is the article demanding that jihadists discontinue the slaughter of peaceful and kind Christians, who are perceived as infidels, worthy of systematic murder?

COMMON CORE DOESN'T MAKE THE GRADE

"Parent's are not special interests," was the reply when NY State Education Commissioner, John King, referred to them as such.

WHAT NY LEARNS FROM KENTUCKY ON COMMON CORE EDUCATION

"When New York’s education officials wanted to know just how serious an impact the new, more difficult state exams would have on student proficiency scores this year, they looked to Kentucky.

EDUCATION CHIEF CANCELS FORUMS, CHARGING 'SPECIAL INTEREST' CROWD MANIPULATION
“It’s very disappointing,” Carl Korn, a NYSUT spokesman, said Monday about King’s decision to cancel the meetings. “The commissioner should hear the frustrations of parents and educators about the overemphasis on standardized testing and the rocky implementation of the Common Core."
“The frustration level is very high, and if there is a not a course-correction, the entire system may implode,” he added."

LAWMAKERS CALL FOR EDUCATION CHIEF'S RESIGNATION
Unions and their legislative allies are increasing the pressure on New York State education commissioner John King, with state lawmakers calling for his resignation and a powerful teachers' union planning public forums to “fill the void” created by the ones the commissioner canceled.
King has faced a firestorm of criticismsince announcing he would “suspend” four town-hall meetings planned for public discussion of the new, controversial Common Core curriculum standards. The decision came after irate parents jeered and heckled him at a Poughkeepsie forum last week.

Barack Obama's lost youth

TYRANNY BY MAJORITY

Tyranny of the majority

"The window of political possibility can only be moved with sustained effort."

(QUOTING ARTICLE LINKED BELOW)

"There was a time when the Left was very concerned about the “tyranny of the majority,” as everyone of all political persuasions should be.  Once in a while, you see a few sparks popping and sizzling on that old ideological circuitry, mostly when the discussion turns to same-sex marriage.

But for the most part, tyranny of the majority is liberal policy now.  A single politician winning a majority of the vote in a couple of elections is supposed to stifle all dissent.  Rarely does an individual voter agree with every single position taken by a politician he supports..."

CHILDREN OF THE PORN

This kind of latitude is being taken all over the nation and few, if any parents are even aware, let alone actively opposing it.

Some parents upset about a school play in which students portray sexual acts with a goat

By Victor Skinner

EAGnews.org

CAREFREE, Ariz. – Some parents of students at Cactus Shadows High School are outraged over a play that has students acting out sexual encounters with a goat, and using vulgar sexual expressions.

Other parents of students in teacher Andrew Cupo’s advanced drama class believe the concerns are overblown, and resent parents who questioned their children about the sexually explicit play without their permission.

Parents attended the governing board meeting for the Cave Creek Unified School District Tuesday and shared about two hours of public comment on the play “The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?” by Edward Albee, which revolves around a character who falls in love with a goat and has sex with it, AZCentral.com reports.

The public discussion – in which three parents and two students spoke against the play, and about three dozen students and parents supported the material – came after a parent called governing board members to complain. Board President David Schaefer told the parent over the weekend to contact the school principal and teacher, according to the news site.

On Monday, 10 parents went to the high school and urged a school resource officer to investigate their complaints about the play’s explicit content. The officer interviewed several students and drama teacher Cupo was put on paid administrative leave – a district policy during ongoing investigations.

“Elissa Ericson, head of the fine arts department at Cactus Shadows, said that Cupo had warned the students several times about the explicit content and offered several opportunities to opt out and study an alternative script,” AZCentral.com reports. “In addition, parents must sign a syllabus at the beginning of the semester that includes a statement that ‘students may be exposed to stories or characters that express views and beliefs that differ from their own or those of their parents.’”

One of the complaining parents said he signed off on the syllabus because he assumed the governing board had vetted the material. Guy McAtee said “having signed an acknowledgement of the course curriculum is in no way authorization for material of this nature to be approved,” according to the news site.

“I’m sure that since it’s appropriate material, that the language I’m about to use will be approved by the school board,” he said before reading several sexually vulgar passages from the play in the public meeting.

Some students and parents told the governing board they were offended by the way parents who oppose the material took matters into their own hands.

“ … We were asked what we thought of Mr. Cupo teaching bestiality. Ironic that they spoke to us of bestiality without the consent of our parents, the same act they condemn Mr. Cupo for,” said Jacob Emnett, one of the students questioned by parents and the school resource officer the day before.

“My daughter was not negatively impacted by the play but she was negatively impacted by being asked in the office if she acted out this play and things she never would have thought of,” parent Sharon Smith told the board, according to AZCentral.com.

Only one student, Emily McAtee, spoke against the play at the Tuesday board meeting.

“I never took the opportunity of the other script so that I didn’t seem discriminated against,” she said. “I understand Mr. Cupo’s point of what is metaphorically said within the script, but when we’re rehearsing these things and saying these things out loud, we’re not thinking of the metaphorical things, we’re thinking of who we’re trying to portray as the character.”

Superintendent Debbi Burdick told AZCentral.com the results of the investigation could yield a wide range of possible responses from the district, from reinstating the teacher with no repercussions, to including a disciplinary letter in his file, to termination.
