SOGI: WHEN’S THE LAST TIME YOU PAID ATTENTION TO CITY HALL?

WHEN’S THE LAST TIME YOU PAID ATTENTION TO CITY HALL?

Cities across the U.S. are contemplating new laws that would put “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” in the same category as race or religion.

This addition is not meant for the innocent purpose of guaranteeing that all individuals receive basic services, however. In effect, these laws – called sexual orientation, gender identity (SOGI) ordinances –are often used to punish individuals who wish to live and work according to their faith.

Litigation Counsel Christiana Holcomb discusses these ordinances, what they mean, and their effect in the following video.

Take Action:

  • Be vigilant in your city and stay up-to-date with the proposals that come before your city government. If you hear that a SOGI law is being considered, contact us at info@alliancedefendingfreedom.org or 1-800-835-5233.
  • If you are, or you know, a business owner who is being threatened for operating your business according to your religious beliefs, or you have questions about your right to do so, ADF can help.  Contact us and we will evaluate whether we can assist in your situation.
  • Nonprofit organizations are also threatened by these ordinances. Any organization that holds true to what Scripture teaches about gender and sexuality may be at risk. Alliance Defending Freedom has developed a free legal guide for churches, religious schools, and other religious ministries that will protect you in advance of these ordinances.
