CAMPAIGN FINANCE LAWS AND FEC REGULATIONS

The FEC wants to relate campaign activity on the internet by individual bloggers and commentator in REG 2014-in, McCutcheon v. FEC. The FEC and your legislators need to hear from you! OPPOSE REG 2014-1

Interesting comments on Campaign Finance and regulations:

Maggie O'Reilly states in a FB POST:

"No doubt there are ways around election finance laws, but in Canada we have a pretty stringent set of rules to govern spending in elections, which seems to work quite well. It is a model the US would do well to study. Corporations cannot buy elections, nor can wealthy individuals. The current rules governing the US, or lack thereof, I should say, is obscene, establishing an oligarchical system which threatens the very fabric of democracy. And when you think of the money spent on elections that goes against the needs of the people, when it could better be spent for the people in myriad ways, it is an outrage. Please let you voices be heard in an effort to stop this insanity."
